Romney: Obama ‘hasn’t done enough’ to repair roads

The Republican nominee said President Barack Obama has failed to create a national transportation plan that can compete with the private sector.

“The president has failed, as you know, to put in place a national strategy that can attract the private industry, that can stimulate growth, that is sustainable, that’s resilient,” Romney said in an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.

Obama has pledged to expand access to safe, reliable, and environmentally sound transportation infrastructure. “

And that’s not going to work in this nation unless the president has a national plan that creates jobs and pays for the roads and bridges and tunnels and all the things that we’ve been talking about, and that we’re going after.”

Obama has pledged to expand access to safe, reliable, and environmentally sound transportation infrastructure.

He has called for investing in roads, highways, bridges and other infrastructure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve fuel efficiency.

The president has also said he wants to expand public transit and build the infrastructure needed to connect people to jobs.
